Volume 22 (2021)

Editor's Note

On behalf of myself and the rest of the Editorial Board, I am pleased to present the 2021 edition of The Review: A Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship. Represented in this 22nd volume of The Review is a variety of research pieces written by undergraduate students here at St. John Fisher College. We admire the willingness of these students to have their papers recognized and published for this edition.

The process for selecting a piece to get published is no easy task. The Editorial Board thoroughly considered each submission we received during our review process and at times, we experienced difficulty in determining what one’s should move forward towards final publication. The pieces published in this edition of The Review are thought to be the best out of all the submissions that we ended up receiving. Nevertheless, we are grateful and appreciative of all those students who dedicated their time to submit a piece for it to potentially be recognized.

I would like to thank the members of the Editorial Board for their effort and commitment to ensuring that this 2021 edition of The Review is one of the best yet. Additionally, thank you to our faculty advisor Dr. Bissonette for guiding us towards this finalized publication. We also want to thank our faculty reviewers whose knowledge in their respective fields allowed us to highlight relevant and accurate research pieces.

Congratulations to all of our represented authors, especially Kathryn Kelly, for winning this year's Provost’s Award for Best paper.

We hope that you thoroughly enjoy this 22nd volume of The Review.

Yours truly,
Jake Franchi ‘23
