Abstract

Radiodermatitis is a condition in which the skin becomes inflamed and the epidermis can break down following radiation injury. In this study we developed a murine model of radiodermatitis where the skin is selectively injured by high-energy electron radiation. Using this model we investigated the interleukin-1 (IL-1) pathway in the development of radiodermatitis.
