Abstract

This Capstone Project assesses and evaluates the current training programs offered to peer advisor candidates and returning peer advisors at St. John Fisher College. Survey research was completed through an online survey (see Appendix C). A theme analysis as well as a descriptive analysis was conducted based on the open-ended survey responses. Focus groups were conducted with nine returning peer advisors (see Appendix C). The key messages and findings, reports on each question asked and provides the answers that were given by the participants. Recomm endations included creating a calendar with events and deadlines, create an online resource library on blackboard, and have a structured meet-and-greet with the Freshman Advisor/Peer Advisors. Many of the recommendations concentrated on updating and improving some of the current resources that are already available to the peer advisors.
